Looking for a cozy coffee shop or a place to meet friends for brunch? SoCo, short for Southern Comfort Bistro, has opened at Lakeridge Village, and it’s the inviting new spot to sit a spell.
Owners Jonny Bean and Charles Bader have stocked the pastry case with scones, muffins, cookies and other fresh-baked yummies, and they created a menu including breakfast burritos, huevos rancheros and avocado toast. The drink menu is complete with coffee, espresso, latte, hot chocolate and a variety of other concoctions, and you can take your tea hot or iced because, well, Texas.
It’s bright inside SoCo, with big picture windows and comfy booths, but they also have tables and chairs on the dog-friendly patio and a view to children playing at Lakeridge’s little park.
SoCo is at the center of things, on the corner where My Office used to operate. They’re open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. 6 days a week – closed Mondays. Lakeridge is at Walnut Hill and Audelia.
