Who knew the Grinch and porch pirates had so much in common? Stealing packages during the holidays.
On Dec. 12, 2019, at about 12 p.m., officers received a call regarding a theft in progress at Mapleridge and Ferndale. The caller said he had witnessed a packing being stolen from a porch, he stayed on the line as he followed the robbers. As he observed, they stole a package from another home.
When Officer Koch and Officer Foreman arrived, they were able to detain both suspects and take them into custody for multiple thefts. Arrested were Amanda Brown and Hassan Suileman, according to DPD.
Officers retrieved a total of 14 packages that Brown and Suileman had taken from nine different homes. Detective Sparks and officers were able to get all the packages back to their rightful owners.
