LHHS band, drill team, cheerleaders and bell boys on the field at halftime

Lake Highlands High was defeated in area football playoffs Saturday 36-27 by Flower Mound Marcus. The back-and-forth game had excited Wildcat fans on the edge of their seats throughout, but exhausted quarterback Mitch Coulson couldn’t bring his team back before the buzzer sounded at the Star in Frisco.

Coulson passed for 158 yards, ran for 153 and scored 2 touchdowns. Evan Moudy’s 16-yard reception in the first quarter got the Wildcat offense going, Jack Hutton had a catch-and-run for 69 yards and a touchdown and Dreveon Eatmond had 5 catches for 96 receiving yards and a touchdown. Jeremiah Richards had a big interception, and Tyson Washington, Noelle Whitehead and Eatmond were workhorses of the running game.

Next year’s prospects are bright, indeed, since Coulson and stellar kicker Will Faris are juniors and Whitehead and Richards are sophomores. Hutton and Moudy are seniors, but they’ll leave 3 younger brothers behind on the team when they graduate. Go Cats.
