Sugarfire Smoke House has signed to open next door to the new pizza joint at Creekside center. Sugarfire, based in Missouri with 14 locations in 5 states, serves St. Louis style barbecue. The Lake Highlands location will be Sugarfire’s first in Texas.

Sugarfire was named Best Barbecue by the Travel Channel, St. Louis Magazine and others, and earned awards at this year’s World Barbecue Championships. They’ve been featured on Burgers, Brew and Que, Beat Bobby Flay and Pitmasters.

Sugarfire standards include beef brisket, baby back ribs and pulled pork, but they’re best known for their specials, posted daily on butcher paper. Today you might choose pork tacos and poblano cream corn. Tomorrow it might be brisket chili and hash brown casserole.

Sugarfire makes all condiments in-house and offers a kid-size sammie for little guys. When you’re ready for dessert, they have pies, floats and shakes, including a boozy White Russian and vanilla caramel bourbon.

You can view a full Sugarfire menu here and follow them on Facebook here.

Creekside center is at Skillman-Abrams and houses Alamo Drafthouse, Bahama Buck’s, Fuzzy’s Taco, Burger IM and other restaurants, services and retail. Yogi’s Home Plate is set to open there later this month.

Specials and sides are posted on butcher paper daily
