The Wildcats are headed to football playoffs

The Wildcats will head to the bi-district football playoffs Friday night after a 27-7 win over Richardson High to finish the football season 7-3 and city champs. Lake Highlands will play Mansfield Summit, also 7-3, at 7:30 p.m. at Grand Prairie’s Gopher-Warrior Bowl.

Quarterback Mitch Coulson, leading passer and rusher for the Cats, rushed for 186 yards against Richardson and more than 1,000 for the season. The first score of the game was his 33-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Dreveon Eatmond, which followed his 30-yard pass to wide receiver Evan Moudy.

Running back Tyson Washington, who racked up 150 rushing yards in the game, scored next.

Kicker Teaff Nickle added two field goals, and Coulson sealed the victory with a final rushing touchdown.
