While some Dallas neighbors are effectively homeless today, some of us feel like we are sitting on our hands.
Here are a few ways to donate to the cause
North Texas Food Bank
The North Texas Food Bank is partnering with the Red Cross and Salvation Army to provide water and food to neighbors. Use this search tool to find a food pantry or other resources in the North Texas area.

Salvation Army
The Salvation Army of North Texas is currently accepting donations for those affected by natural disasters on its website.
The organization’s disaster trucks are roving the affected North Texas neighborhoods serving meals and drinks. Salvation Army’s three disaster trucks are currently in the ares of Preston Road and Royal Lane and Walnut Hill Road and Marsh Lane, according to Dallas Morning News.
Here are some ways that businesses are helping those affected by the tornado.
Relax and recharge
Alamo Drafthouse is providing free PG-rated movies at its Lake Highlands and Richardson locations for residents affected by the tornado. The theater also offered to allow those without power to charge their phones at its locations.
Secure your stuff
The company released a statement saying “six U-Haul Companies across northern Texas are offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container usage to residents who have been impacted by Sunday night’s severe storms.”

Get a ride
Dallas-based nonprofit On The Road Lending is also offering its Disaster Mobility Program services to Dallas residents who are without transportation after Sunday evening’s storms.
Check in with work
Coworking space providers WeWork and WorkSuites have offered places to recharge devices, access wifi and comfortably relax. Free of charge.
Companies and individuals in need of an office or meeting room can email dfwrelief@wework.com to find space at WeWork in Victory Park, Las Colinas, Legacy North and Preston Center.
Have some fellowship
The Fellowship Church of Dallas is open for charging, wifi and coffee.
Get a hand up
The Community Beer Company offered to help clean up.
Sit a spell
The Lake Highlands’ brewery is offering a place for neighbors to charge electronics and get work done.
