At the top of McGough’s list of topics will be two children shot last week inside their apartment at Royal Lane and Abrams Road. The 13-year-old boy was shot in the head and his 10-year-old sister was injured by another bullet and by flying glass when automatic gunfire came through the walls of their unit in the Colinas Royale complex about 2 in the morning. The children were apparently playing video games at the time of the shooting and are expected to recover from their injuries.

Project Safe Neighborhoods representatives, including folks from the U.S. Attorney’s office, the Dallas Police Department and Dallas Community Prosecutors, will provide information about a recent spike in area crime and their efforts to fight it. The meeting will be held in the Scofield amphitheater, 7730 Abrams Road.
