The first BBC was a hoot, with lively chatter about Delia Owens’ bestseller “Where the Crawdads Sing.” Some avid readers came alone and others brought their entire book club, but the whole group was mixing and mingling before we were through. (Personal note: I enjoyed facilitating your great questions and opinions on the book, thank you.)

“The Silent Patient” is about Alicia Berenson, a gifted artist who never speaks another word after shooting her husband, Gabriel, five times. Forensic psychotherapist Theo Faber is convinced he can treat Alicia, though others have failed. Obsessed with investigating her crime, his discoveries suggest her silence goes deeper than he first imagined. Brad Pitt is making a movie from the book, and two other Michaelides books have become successful feature films.

At the end of the discussion, we’ll reveal next month’s selection.

Bistro chef-owner Erin Willis and her manager, Michaela Camm, will offer a special cocktail for the occasion, plus they’ll have half price bottles of wine and discounted appetizers. If you’d like to join us, RSVP to RM 12:20 Bistro at 214-238-2919. (ICYMI, the Bistro was named New Business of the Year by the Lake Highlands Chamber of Commerce in May.)
