Swing by the Lake Highlands Town Center on Memorial Day to enjoy Play for the Day, a free outdoor festival including family games and activities, live music, an art show and a 5K race.
Funds raised go to Camp Sweeney, which helps children with juvenile diabetes learn to test blood sugars, make healthy diet choices and administer shots of insulin. For diabetic kids, experiencing the joys of “away camp” would be impossible without the medical supervision provided by Sweeney counselors.
The 5K race begins at 9:30 a.m. May 27 on Wildcat Way, with the Kid Zone opening at 9 a.m.. You may register to run here or sponsor a camper here.

Last year’s Sweeney 5K.
