An off-duty officer drove up on a disturbance near the intersection at about 4:30 p.m., according to the Dallas Police Department. He then saw an 18-year-old man shoot a 24-year-old man.

The officer chased after the shooter and fired his weapon several times.

The 18-year-old and the 24-year-old were taken to the hospital for their injuries, which were not life-threatening.

Although the officer was off-duty, he was wearing a full uniform and driving a marked squad car, because he was working Enhanced Neighborhood Patrol, police say.

The officer was not injured. We will update this post as we learn more.
