Here’s how a local nonprofit is helping this Lake Highlands family

After being diagnosed with breast cancer, Lake Highlands’ Lauren Madeley’s automatic reaction wasn’t to worry about herself.

“I’m thinking of my girls,” Madeley told NBC 5. “And, I’m thinking how is this going to affect my girls and who is going to help me take care of them?”

Thanks to the nonprofit Mommies in Need, the family found a nanny to help them care for their three children. Founded by Natalie Boyle, the nonprofit provides families experiencing a health crisis with free in-home child care.
