Preston Lawrence celebrates the Wildcats’ win against Richardson

The Lake Highlands High boys basketball team is headed to bi-district playoffs Tuesday night after defeating Richardson 81-79 in double overtime last Tuesday. The Wildcats bring strong momentum into the postseason with an 8-1 record in its final 9 games, including a big upset against Pearce the previous week. This is the first time in 7 years the team has made the playoffs.

The Wildcats, with a 10-4 district record, will play 7-6-A’s Mansfield Lake Ridge, 9-5 in district, on Feb. 19 at Flower Mound High, 3411 Peters Colony Road. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students, and LHHS students may ride a 5:45 p.m. bus to the game if they have a school ID and a signed waiver, available from the LHHS athletic office. The bus will transport students back to LHHS after the game.
