Calloway’s site
You can still buy begonias and marigolds at Calloway’s Nursery, but soon they’ll be moving a couple of blocks north to their new home on Greenville Avenue. Real estate developers are planning a mixed-use center at Greenville and Pineland to include office, retail, restaurant, hotel and multifamily housing. The development will take in the former El Arroyo, Jason’s Deli and other now-vacant shops and offices along with the garden center.
The new Calloway’s site at 7600 Greenville is south of Moss Soccer Park and west of the winding dirt trail known mostly to serious mountain bikers and off-road cyclists. The land was filled in recent months to raise it out of the 100-year floodplain.
Calloway’s employees expect their new digs to open in December 2020.
