The Lake Highlands High School drum line kicked off Chi Omega Christmas Market last night with a Parade of Beneficiaries through the Preview Party. The celebration kicked off the 4-day market, which raises funds for Dallas nonprofits and brings merchants from around the country to Fair Park’s Centennial Hall.
The fundraiser is organized and staffed by Chi Omega alums and members of the Chi O Mothers Club, including new Mothers Club member, Richardson ISD school board member Katie Patterson. Her daughter, Kristin, joined UT’s chapter in August.
Chi Omega has raised more than $8 million for 115 different agencies in the market’s 40 years. This year’s beneficiaries include: Camp Sweeney for diabetic children, Attitudes and Attire, Catch Up and Read, Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, Dallas Children’s Theater, Family Compass, Make-A-Wish, Mane Gait, Readers 2 Leaders, Youth With Faces.
If you’d like to shop the market, discount tickets are available at any Tom Thumb store. First Call shopping is Thursday/today 9:30-1. General admission is Thursday 1-9, Friday 10-8 and Saturday 10-5.
