Wizard of Oz: Lake Highlands students make even flying monkeys cute

Hayes Wilcox and Annabelle Greenberg as Winkie Guards in The Wizard of Oz

Lake Highlands cuties Annabelle Greenberg and Hayes Wilcox stole the show during last weekend’s opening of the North Texas Performing Arts production of “The Wizard of Oz“, and performances continue this Friday and Saturday. The musical features Wilcox, a fifth-grader at Lake Highlands Elementary, as the Wicked Witch of the West and Greenberg, a Wallace second-grader, as Toto. As part of NTPA’s talented ensemble, both children also play those dastardly flying monkeys and the witch’s winkie guards.

Performances are held at the NTPA Plano Theater inside Willow Bend Mall. Tickets for the evening or matinee shows are $10-20 and are available online here.
