Sure, the annual softball game between teachers at Wallace and Lake Highlands Elementary is intended to be a bonding experience – a kumbaya moment of team-building and positivity. But make no mistake. These teachers (and their little charges) have spirit for miles, and they have no intention of being shown up by their friends at the elementary school half a mile down Ferndale.

If you’d enjoy watching the game, the teachers will play Thursday, Sept. 20 on the LHHS campus. Concession sales begin at 5:30 and first pitch is at 6. Admission is free.

If you go, keep an eye out for the principals. Wallace’s Frank Patranella has led the school since 2016, and Emily Gruninger is in her first year at the helm of LHE. Both are expected to pick up a bat for their team.

Funds raised will be used for sixth grade programming.
