Dallas City Councilman Adam McGough awarded his 2018 Blake Anderson Public Service Awards Tuesday at City Hall, presenting the honors in memory of the young man who worked on McGough’s staff while earning his MBA. Despite grappling with Type I diabetes, Anderson was an active outdoorsman and marathon runner. He died while mountain biking at George W. Bush’s ranch outside Crawford, Texas.
The 19 recipients from District 10 demonstrated their selflessness and dedication to community, McGough said. Anderson’s parents helped present the awards, fashioned into the shape of bicycle spokes.
Congratulations and thanks go to all the honorees.
