Wondering why you heard a helicopter hovering over Lake Highlands just after 10 p.m. Sunday?

The copter was part of a high speed chase along LBJ Freeway, which began near Central Expressway and ended in a Lake Highlands neighborhood. When a state trooper tried pulling a car over, the car took off and the trooper gave chase, reaching 100 mph. The car exited at Skillman and raced down Audelia to Tanglevine near the Audelia Library before crashing.
