After six years, the Camp Sweeney Play for the Day event at the Town Center has become Lake Highlands’ official start of summer. There was plenty of sunshine Monday – along with breakfast tacos from Taco Diner and treats from Yogurtland – to celebrate Memorial Day in style.

The 5k, family fun run and art show raised funds for Camp Sweeney for diabetic children and was hosted by the Lake Highlands Public Improvement District. If you’d like to send a kid to camp, it’s not too late – learn more here.
