Lake Highlands will “Honor Our Heroes” at a Flag Day event June 14

Flag Pole Hill will be the site of a ceremony to “Honor Our Heroes” Wednesday in recognition of the contributions made by members of the military, police, fire and rescue squads in our area. The Flag Day family event is sponsored by the White Rock Lake Foundation, Carry the Load & Flag, White Rock Partnership, Safer Dallas, Northeast Police Division, Boy Scouts of America, Fire Rescue, U.S. Military, Councilman Adam McGough, City of Dallas and City of Dallas Parks and Recreation.

At 5:30 p.m., families are invited to tour on-site fire trucks, police helicopters, squad cars and cop bike patrols. At 6, speakers will follow the hero’s prayer and national anthem, with cookies and drinks after a rousing rendition of God Bless America.

The event is free and open to the public.
