A 93-year-old grandmother, 41-year-old mother and seven children, ages 1-11, were inside a home in the 9100 block of Larchwood Drive when it caught fire. Three people doing landscaping work nearby helped the family safely exit their home, Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans told the Dallas Morning News.

The 93-year-old was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but no injuries were noticeable.

The blaze caused a substantial amount of damage, and its cause has yet to be determined.

One of their neighbors, Chad Roberts, created a GoFundMe page to assist the family.

“An L-Street family has just suffered complete loss of all possessions and memories and the comfort they called home due to a fire,” he wrote. “They even lost their pets.

“They are a very large family with mom/dad, eight children and their great-grandmother. They will need more than just money, but this is a start.”
