LHHS’ Casey Boland is honored as an RISD STAR teacher

Ten life-changing Richardson ISD teachers, including 4 in Lake Highlands area schools, were surprised in their classrooms Friday with a visit by the STAR Prize Patrol. The Awards Committee of the RISD Excellence in Education Foundation, bearing flowers and balloons, arrived to announce the district’s newest STAR teachers – winners of Superior Teaching Achievement in RISD schools.

2018 recipients are Ross Ferrans, Forest Lane Academy, 3rd grade math; Judy Boone, Wallace Elementary librarian; Casey Boland, Lake Highlands High School, AP U.S. history and academic decathlon; Ashley Jones, Hamilton Park Pacesetter Magnet, 3rd grade; Erik Archilla, Richardson High School, assistant theatre director; Angie Alford, Spring Creek Elementary, 4th Grade social studies; Erin Fox, Parkhill Junior High, orchestra director; Heidi Harris, Arapaho Classical Magnet, 5th grade science and social studies; Sherry Null, Apollo Junior High, 7th grade science; Nicole Wilson, Math Science Technology Magnet, special education.
