Dallas Fire-Rescue saved a homeless man Friday, Feb. 23, after he became trapped in floodwaters in Lake Highlands.
Floodwaters rose as the man slept under a bridge near Forest Lane and Cottonwood Creek Trail. After another homeless man saw him at about 3:30 a.m., firefighters used a rope, ladder and vest to bring him to safety. By that point, the water reached the man’s chest.
He was taken to the hospital for observation.
