It’s that time of year! The Lake Highlands Area Band Club is hosting its annual mattress fundraiser on Saturday from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. All proceeds from the mattress sales benefit the band. Brands like Simmons, Beautyrest and Southerland will be available in a variety of sizes for below retail price.

Stop by The Point at CC Young Senior Living at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6 for a drum circle. Guests can play together and connect at this free event for drummers of all levels. Equipment will be provided.

Enjoy a free Mexican buffet at Lonestar Roadhouse while you watch the Patriots take on the Eagles. Take advantage of $2.75 domestic longnecks and well drinks. Kickoff is Sunday at 5:30 p.m. (Please bring a side dish to contribute to the buffet. Don’t be a freeloader.)

For gardening beginners, Lake Highlands Community Gardens is hosting a class at Audelia Road Library to teach newbies how to overcome common issues like extreme temperatures, poor soil quality and dealing with insects. The class will be Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m.

Finally, for parents who love to plan ahead, registration begins for summer camps at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church on Monday, Feb. 5. Camps are available all summer long for preK to 6th graders. Options include VBS, Sports Camp, Cheer Camp, Dodgeball Camp and Camp in the City.
