Stuart and Bonnie Parker were understandably upset when their Merriman Park home was burglarized while they attended a Christmas Eve party in the neighborhood. But the only thing they desperately wanted back was their 8-month-old puppy, a shaggy black Shih Tzu named Zane.
They offered a $5,000 reward, but there was no word on Zane. Until last week.
A woman said she found the dog wandering in her neighborhood, and called the Stuarts, according to reports. The microchip confirmed it was their stolen puppy, and a family was reunited.
The woman who found Zane did receive the reward.
