Ohio State University Marching Band’s ‘Statue of Liberty’ formation

Fans of big-talent marching bands are in for a Christmas bonus. The Cotton Bowl bands are coming to town, and they’ll be rehearsing for their live, nationally-televised half-time show at Richardson ISD’s Wildcat-Ram and Eagle-Mustang Stadiums.

The rehearsals are free and open to the public.

Ohio State University will rehearse at Wildcat-Ram Stadium, 9449 Church Road, Wed. Dec. 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 28 from 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. and Fri,. Dec. 29 from 1 to 2:30. University of Southern California rehearsals will be at Eagle-Mustang Stadium, 1250 W. Belt Line Road, on Thurs., Dec. 28 and Fri., Dec. 29 from 9:30 to noon.

Ohio State, headed for LHHS and nicknamed The Best Damned Band in the Land, is famous for its intricate formations, including script-writing, on the field. It is one of the few collegiate all-brass and percussion bands in the country.

The Cotton Bowl Classic will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 29 at AT&T Stadium.
