The Cotton Bowl Classic marching bands will be rehearsing their halftime shows at Richardson ISD stadiums this week, but that’s only one of Lake Highlands’ Cotton Bowl connections.

Lucy White, 2017 grad, will be performing at the game with her Kilgore Rangerette squad – a halftime tradition for the drill team since 1951. The dancers will make other game-related appearances and receive a traditional commemorative watch from the host committee.

Lauren West and Sarah Garcia, LHHS 2014 grads currently studying at UT and Texas A&M, are also participating in game-week fun working for the Cotton Bowl. They are chauffeuring big-game big-shots around town, charming them with their big smiles. The Wildcat Wranglers aren’t dancing at the game, but a few of the guys will be holding onto the gigantic on-field flag during pre-game festivities and sticking around for kickoff.

The 82nd Annual Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic kicks off this Friday at 7:30 at AT&T Stadium. If you don’t have tickets, you can watch Ohio State face the University of Southern California on ESPN.
