Change is coming to this year’s Lake Highlands Women’s League home tour luncheon, so if you have a ticket you may need to sit down before you take a seat.

Veterans of the fundraiser know it’s tradition for league member’s husbands to serve as waiters – charming guests and donating their tips to the cause. In 2014, a few LH-area principals were invited to participate, but women have never served as servers. Until now.

Waiter Chair Connie Baird says several popular female principals have answered the call this year, including LHHS grad Becky Lamberth Stevens of LHE, Lee Walker of White Rock, Mary Kellagher of Northlake, Ingrid Dodd of Skyview, Susan Burt of Merriman Park and Sharon Newman of Thurgood Marshall. Also delivering plates and refilling glasses will be Dr. Joshua Delich of LHHS, Frank Patranella of Wallace and Philip Henderson of Moss Haven.

The Holiday in the Highlands home tour will be held this Friday, Dec. 1 from 9:30 a.m.  to 8 p.m., and the luncheon is from 11 to 1:30 at Highland Oaks Church of Christ, 10805 Walnut Hill Lane. Tickets are available online here. The LHWL Holiday Market will host a preview from 1-3 Thursday and be open from 9-3 Friday.
