It’s homecoming week in Lake Highlands High and the festivities began on Monday with the start of Spirit Week. Each day there is a different theme for which students dress up, from dress like a cowboy to Hawaiian day.

All are invited to the pep rally on Friday that starts at 3 p.m at the stadium (seating will be on the home side). Student groups like the Highlandettes will perform and get the crowd raring for the big game at 7:30 p.m. against the Richardson Eagles. The homecoming court will be announced before the game. Representing the freshman class is Natalie Dries, as this year’s Marchioness; Leslie Pena is serving for the sophomores and is this year’s Duchess; MaKinley Jackson is representing the junior class as the 2017 Princess. The members of the Senior Court are Elaina Dorsey, Katie Gray, Maribeth Punjak, Taber Roach, Maegan Strother and Lauren Toungate. This year’s homecoming king is Mitchell Hurst.

But that’s just Friday.

Don’t forget about Varsity Revue where students and other art programs will show off their talent on the stage. There are two performances: Thursday at 7 p.m and Saturday at 6 p.m. Student tickets are $5 and adult tickets are $10. On Saturday after Varsity Revue many of the students will be getting ready for the homecoming dance that starts at 9 p.m. This is the week to show all our Wildcat pride.Â
