Neighbors will have the chance to ride their rental bike directly to a brewpub located in Arboretum Village, just off the Santa Fe Trail (at the corner of Gaston and Garland). White Rock Alehouse and Brewery will be brewing their own beer and offering an elevated American menu adjacent to the Santa Fe trailhead at the shopping center with Ace Hardware and Tom Thumb.
The Alehouse is founded by Lake Highlands neighbors Dave Kirk and Greg Nixon, and wants serve the active lake community. Kirk and Nixon are not brewers themselves, but have brought along another Lake Highlands neighbor, Blake Morrison as their ale expert. The new pub wants to be family-friendly, but hopes to be a place that has fewer children running between the tables than other area restaurants. The new alehouse will have a large patio and beer garden, and plans to open in November.
