Forerunner Mentoring

Lake Highlands High School football season tickets sold out early this year, but LHHS PTA organizers know that not every reserved ticket holder uses every seat every week. That’s why they’ve teamed up with Forerunner Mentoring to enable LH-area boys – kids who would likely not otherwise be able to go to a Wildcat football game – to use the tickets.

Forerunner is a non-profit that pairs successful men in the community with fatherless boys in neighborhood schools to provide love and guidance. The newest “Mentors” recently completed training to come alongside a new crop of “Forerunners” – fresh-faced, open-hearted boys.

If you are a season ticket holder willing to share unused seats, email Wildcat Ticket Chair Laura Lavender at Laura.Lavender@sbcglobal.net to learn how to pass on your tickets. Forerunner also accepts tickets to Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, Texas Rangers and other sporting events – and you can make a monetary donation here. You can learn about becoming a mentor here.

Oh, and, if you are going to this week’s Wildcat game against Berkner, be advised that the game has been changed to Thursday. Your ticket says Friday, but the game will be played Thursday night at 7 p.m. Go Cats!
