The board bid farewell to departing member Kris Oliver, who stepped down to permit his daughter, now a college graduate, to accept a position teaching at Richardson High.

The board’s first order of business was to elect officers for the coming year. Lake Highlands resident Justin Bono will serve as president, Kuhne as vice president, Kim Caston as treasurer and Katie Patterson as secretary.

(Note to self: Must stop taking notes at school board meetings using members’ initials. There are now two K.C.’s and two J. Bono’s on the RISD school board.)

Congratulations, all.

Trustee Karen Clardy with her husband, daughter, son-in-law and grandsons.
