Get your classical on this Saturday when the NorthPark Center hosts a rare concert featuring the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Hear Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 4” led by Music Director Jaap van Zweden. The music takes place in the garden at 7 p.m. and is free for all to attend. During the event, mall eateries will be selling boxed dinners to enjoy with the concert — see menu the prices here.

If a plane ticket to Germany isn’t realistic this Oktoberfest, head to the craft beer and music festival Parktoberfest from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. this Saturday at the Shops at Park Lane. Tickets are $10-$30 and available here. A portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to the Wilkinson Center, an agency that assists families in poverty.

St. James Episcopal Church has opened its annual Pumpkin Patch for the entire month of October. You can use these pumpkins to decorate, carve, or even use to cook. The patch is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. All proceeds of this fundraiser will go to the youth ministry to help endorse mission trips by giving scholarships.

Young adult author Kay Honeyman makes a stop at Half-Priced Books on Northwest to share her latest novel, “Interference.” She will be signing books at 2 p.m.
