Texas Hen House Raffle

Texas Hen House Raffle

All you need is a map and a healthy dose of curiosity to enjoy the 7th annual A Peep at the Coops tour of backyard coops, hosted this year and benefitting Moss Haven Farm. The farm is a designated North Texas Food Bank grow and donate site, where students have planted, nurtured and harvested over 1600 pounds of fresh crops (mostly organic) to RISD’s Food Pantry, a NTFB donor site. The tour is designed to encourage the growing trend of chicken-raising in the heart of the city.

In addition to nine chicken coops, you’ll visit Moss Haven Farm, where local vendors will be selling unique homemade items like T-Rex Pickles, made with local produce and craft beer. You’ll see community groups preforming, dine at food trucks and enjoy live music. If you win the raffle, your prize will be a chicken coop to house 12 hens.

A Peep at the Coops will be held Sunday, May 1 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets/maps are $10 per person (kids 12 and under are free) and are available at MHE, 9202 Moss Farm Lane, during the event.
