Troop 890 celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2011, having been chartered at LHUMC in 1961. They’ve now been meeting each Monday night at the same location for 55 years.

The 500th Eagle Scout Celebration will begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14th at LHUMC with a social reception. Visitors will enjoy appetizers, view Troop 890 memorabilia and connect with current and former Scouts and Scouters. A ceremony will follow with remarks from local dignitaries and National Boy Scouts of America leadership. The evening will conclude with homemade Dutch Oven Scout cobbler.

The cost to attend is $15 per person and includes a commemorative patch from the event. You may register online here. If you know of a Troop 890 Scout who should be added to the mailing list, contact Scoutmaster Chris Arends at scoutmaster@troop890.org and/or join the Facebook discussion on the Troop 890 page.
