The Regional Transportation Council Thursday gave initial approval of $65 million to fix the Skillman/Audelia/I-635 interchange, which connects central Lake Highlands to its northern reaches.
The same vote approved $31 million for seven sound walls along LBJ and $40 million to turn Central Expressway’s carpool lanes into additional main lanes during rush hour, reports the Dallas Morning News’ transportation writer Brandon Formby.
This is a major step in the right direction, according to city councilman Adam McGough, who last week asked constituents to fight for this funding, among other things.
“We need to speak loudly and with one voice to ensure the transportation needs affecting Lake Highlands and District 10 are a top priority,” he urged us.
