If you’re headed out to tonight’s 80th annual Cotton Bowl Classic or planning to watch it live on ESPN, keep an eye out for Lake Highlands High School alum Bess Detar. The 2014 grad will be dancing as part of a performance by the Kilgore Rangerettes – a Cotton Bowl halftime tradition since 1951.
Yesterday, in a special ceremony, Bess and other sophomore Rangerettes received a commemorative watch in appreciation for their service to the Cotton Bowl.
The big game pits Alabama (12-1) against Michigan State (12-1). Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium.
