White Rock Valley residents are spilling over with Christmas spirit this week, still glowing from their first annual Jingle Ride Saturday night. Neighbors organized a “reverse Santa,” with the jolly man in red and his elves parading through the streets collecting toys instead of distributing them. Items collected will go to needy children via Pamper Lake Highlands and Feed Lake Highlands charitable organizations.

Caren Bright, founder of Pamper LH thought the idea was such a good one, she and her daughter joined the fun.

“You have to see this, this is amazing,” Caren called to tell me. “They have a sleigh and horses and Santa and elves. The trailers are decorated with lights and the golf carts have speakers playing Christmas music. It’s incredible.”

Then I had to let her go.

“My daughter and I are going to be carolers. The parade is about to leave.”

No word yet on the number of toys collected, but the sleigh built by John Rudebeck was overflowing.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
