1. The trains are choo-choo-chooing along at NorthPark Center. It’s a tried-and-true holiday tradition — mini locomotives traverse 1,600 feet of track in the exhibit benefitting Ronald McDonald House. The trains follow miniature cityscapes including Dallas, Washington, D.C., New York City and San Francisco, plus the Grand Canyon, the fall foliage of New England and more. Cost runs $3-$7. For more information call 214.363.7441 or visit thetrainsatnorthpark.com.
2. At Dallas Children’s Theater, “Miracle on 34th Street” is onstage. This play by Valentine Davies is based on the classic 1947 holiday film. Visit dct.org or call 214.978.0110 for more. Tickets are $15-$28.
3. At the Dallas Arboretum, it’s that magical time of year when special decorations and special guests (“ho ho ho”) start appearing at the gardens. The 12 Days of Christmas exhibit runs through Jan. 3. The Artistry of the Nativity opens Friday. Kids, attend a night lab at the children’s garden.
4. Sunday marks the first-ever Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League’s Light Up the Highlands. The festivities kick off at Lake Highlands North Recreation Center at 4 p.m. Sunday.
