Ready to take part in a new holiday tradition with your family and the rest of Lake Highlands this year?
Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League members have planned something brand new: the community’s first-ever Christmas tree lighting ceremony. In addition to illuminating the 30 foot tree, the family-friendly holiday festival will feature performances by the Lake Highlands High School show choir, Espree, and free burgers and refreshments from In-N-Out Burgers. There’ll be special appearances by Santa with his reindeer and elves, and plenty of photo opps with friends and neighbors. Best of all: the event is free.
Light Up the Highlands will be held at the Lake Highlands North Recreation Center from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29. The big event – the lighting of the tree – will take place at 5:50, and the tree will remain lit each evening from 5:30 p.m. until 2 a.m. until mid-January.
And when your kids move back to Lake Highlands to start their families, you can tell your grandchildren you were there when the tradition began.
Thank you, Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League!
