Friday and Saturday It’s your last opportunity to peruse the annual Día de los Muertos exhibit at the Bath House Cultural Center at White Rock Lake, 521 E. Lawther. Vibrantly colored skeletal faces, all teeth and wide eyes, eerily playful, a visually-striking celebration of lives that have ended — Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos, is a fascinating homage to those who have passed on. As always, the exhibit is free to the public.
Saturday and Sunday The AIA Home Tour, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., features architecturally significant homes across Dallas, including nearby Urban Reserve, north Lake Highlands’ environmentally responsible, uber-contemporary utopia. All access tickets run $30 here at hometourdallas.com.
Sunday Karen Irwin Halsey, a 1987 Lake Highlands High School grad, will come home this month for an ArtCentre of Plano exhibit of her work called “Make It Real, Make It Rock: Photographs by Karen Irwin Halsey.” The featured musicians vary from passionate 6-year-old students and to small club warriors to Grammy-winning, internationally acclaimed artists. Attend an opening reception Sunday, Nov. 15 from 3-5 p.m. at the Courtyard Theater Gallery, 1509 Ave. H in Plano. The show runs through Dec. 12.
