A 4-year-old boy is in stable condition Sunday night after his mother, Paw Eh, 31, forced him to eat poison Halloween night, according to a Dallas Police Department spokesperson. The child’s condition has been upgraded from critical. Suspect Eh’s other two children, ages 7 and 12, are in a family member’s care.
The Ehs live at 10850 Walnut Hill Lane, near Plano, at the Newport Landing apartments. She also attempted unsuccessfully to poison her other two children, those children reportedly told detectives. They say she tried to make them swallow a white powder used to kill bugs.
Child Protective Services spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner told WFAA that Eh has no prior history with the agency and has no criminal background on her record. Eh has been charged with attempted capital murder.
Newport Landing is home to much of Lake Highlands’ Burmese political-refugee community, we know from stories we have reported in the past, such at this one about the ministries helping them, The apartments feed into Wallace Elementary. We do not know if the Ehs are Burmese or if the children attend Wallace. We will update this site as we learn more.
