Things are starting to happen at the town center. One little hair salon, Artistik Edge, will be the first retail tenant at the $300 million development.
The Lake Highlands Town Center recently broke free from Tax Increment Financing restrictions, which means losing millions. It also means developers are free to move forward with plans that look quite different from the original town center proposal back in 2008.
Sprouts grocery store is the highest profile potential tenant at this point, but neighborhood businesswoman Terri Hoover, who owns Artistik Edge Hair Salon, is packing her inventory and preparing to move into new digs at the ground floor of the town center’s Haven Lake Highlands building.
She says she plans to close the location on Abrams Oct. 31 and reopen at the town center, 7077 Watercrest Parkway, Nov. 4.
“If you have an appointment on Tuesday that means you are not getting our messages,” she notes. “Please call us back so we can get you a new appointment!”
The store phone number will remain 214.349.3888. A grand opening party is planned for Nov. 3 — it begins with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. and food, drinks and fun until 8:30 p.m.
