Richardson ISD and the Dallas Police Department promise increased security at tonight’s Lake Highlands versus Berkner varsity football game at Wildcat-Ram stadium.
“RISD is expecting a sellout crowd for the event and is working with Dallas Police to ensure a safe and orderly game environment,” note Richardson ISD officials. “Gates will open at 6 p.m. Please plan to allocate extra time for parking and enhanced stadium security measures, including screenings by security personnel using handheld scanners.”
There is a history of fighting at the Ram-Wildcat game. In fact, in 2005 police suspect a fight at the game escalated into a shooting.
Police also want to remind parents and students that no one will be allowed to loiter after the game.
“Please plan to pick up your child directly after the game concludes,” a police representative says.
