At their 5th annual Tablescapes Luncheon Friday, Healing Hands Ministries welcomed an author getting national attention for her recently-released book, Miracles From Heaven. Christy Wilson Beam, a Texas native now living near Burleson, shared the story of her daughter, Annabel, and how God used a backyard accident to share His grace.

Christy and her husband, Kevin, have three daughters, Abby, Annabel and Adelynn. Annabel, 9 at the time, had been grappling with an incurable digestive disorder which physicians seemed unable to diagnose.

“She was physically, mentally and emotionally in pain,” Christy told the rapt crowd. “Regardless of what the doctors were saying, something was seriously wrong. She was on ten medications, and we were constantly flying back and forth to Boston seeing specialists. We were facing a possible intestinal transplant, and I was dealing with depression, anxiety and fear.”

One day after returning home from Boston, big sister Abby convinced Annabel to come outside and climb a tree. Before long, the girls were 30 feet up. When the branch gave way, Annabel ended up trapped inside a hollowed out log. During the 5 hours while firemen were trying to extract her, Annabel says she spoke with God.

“She told Him she wanted to stay,” said Christy, “but He said, ‘I have plans for you. There will be nothing wrong with you. You will be healed.’”

Today, Annabel takes no meds. She has been released by the doctors. She is asymptomatic.

“I feel like He ended her suffering and gave her a new life,” said Christy. “God performed His miracle, not because of our faithfulness, but because of His faithfulness.”

Christy’s book is available everywhere books are sold. Jennifer Garner has signed on to play Christy in a Hollywood movie.
