Texas’ state mental hospital in Terrell Texas provides mental health services for adults, children and adolescents and geriatric patients. The hospital serves 19 counties in north and northeast Texas, and, as a state-run facility, funds are seldom available for items that aren’t entirely necessary — greeting cards on which patients can scribe notes to their family members and friends, for example.
One Terrell State Hospital nurse has put out a call for cards — blank cards, Thank You cards, birthday cards, holiday greeting cards of any sort will do. Lake Highlands resident Julie Alexander is collecting contributions from our neighborhood. If you want to help out, drop cards on her front porch, at 9105 Leaside (in the L Streets area). If it is closer, you can also drop them off at 9951 Tanglevine, near Church and Audelia.
