Wildcat Mock Trial Team at competition
The Lake Highlands High School Mock Trial Team competed in the Dallas District Mock Trial competition recently at the George Allen Courthouse, and two team members were honored for individual achievement.
Brooke Elkjer and Emily Hohnstein received honorable mention in the Best Advocate category. Team members include Shelby Killoran (co-captain), Summer Brown (co-captain), Valeria Escalante, Tita Peterson, James Harding, Nahiyan Kahn, Kenton Wilhelm and Robert Arends.
“It was a fierce competition that involved a criminal case to determine whether the defendant was guilty of pushing her best friend out of a window to gain insurance money and acquire ownership of the business,” explained Kim Elkjer, who coaches the team with fellow lawyer Michael Hurst and is proud mom of awardee, Brooke. LHHS’ Dr. Andie Morgan sponsors the team.
Congratulations, Wildcats.
