Mitchell Henton, a redshirt freshman on the Midwestern State football team, has been honored for his work punting for the Mustangs this season. Henton was named to the Beyond Sports Network All Super Region Four squad this week, and he earned second team All Lone Star Conference honors. Last week, he was tapped for the College Freshman All American Team.

Henton led the conference with a 42-yard per punt average and boasted six punts of at least 50 yards. He placed 12 inside the 20 yard line.

While at Lake Highlands Henton was named District Special Teams Player of the Year and was selected twice for VYPE Magazine’s Greater Dallas All-VYPE team. He was selected Academic All-State and was a National Football Foundation Gridiron Club of Dallas scholar athlete, but he is likely best remembered for nailing the 42-yard game winning field goal against Jesuit as time expired.

Congratulations, Mitchell!
