“I am resigning from the RISD Board of Trustees effective December 8,” said Holburn. “For employment reasons, our family is moving out of the district. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in RISD and service to our students and staff. I appreciate the opportunity to serve RISD and am honored to have done so, through both the PTA and Board of Trustees, for the last 17 years. The district is in excellent condition and I am very confident in our leadership and direction. I am proud of our students, teachers, and staff members, and wish you well on your journey to even greater heights.”

Holburn’s resignation was accepted by remaining board members and VP Kim Caston was selected to serve as president. Lake Highlands resident Adam Meierhofer was elected vice-president. A special election to fill the vacant Place 6 will be held in May of 2015, with the elected person serving out Holburn’s term until May of 2016. Trustees for Places 1 (currently Meierhofer) and 2 (currently Caston) will also be elected in May of 2015.

Thank you, Mrs. Holburn, for 17 years of dedicated service to Richardson ISD children!
