It’s time again for White Rock Local Market’s fourth annual chili contest, to be held Oct. 18. Gather at Lakeside Baptist Church from 10:30 a.m.-noon. to sample chili or show off your one-of-a-kind recipe in categories such as traditional, vegetarian, spicy, and wildcard. Whole Foods on Park Lane is hosting a beer dinner, featuring “Southern homestyle” cuisine and selected beers from Revolver Brewing, on Oct. 24, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost is $30; purchase reservations here.
